Drug Induced Gingival Enlargement
Patient came up with complaint of Gingival Enlargement associated with EPULIS (Tumor like abnormal growth was observed on the gums).
It was identified that patient is under curative medication of Hyper tension (High Blood Pressure) and the EPULIS (the tumor like abnormal growth of gums) is induced (developed as a side effect) by the drug being taken by the patient for curing High Blood pressure.
Patient was then treated with substitution of drug and Non Surgical Periodontal Therapy and Laser assisted procedure. No Surgical attempts were made.
Satisfactory results obtained, patient is advised for regular followup.
